The hills of Zagorje, north of Zagreb, are rich in warm mineral springs, and their spa towns have welcomed bathers for centuries. Today they are an easy escape for a day of pools, saunas and massages.

Thermal springs rise at several places in Zagorje, and towns such as Tuhelj, Stubičke Toplice and Krapinske Toplice grew up around them.
Modern resorts
The springs now feed modern resorts with indoor and outdoor thermal pools, water slides, sauna worlds and wellness treatments, with hotels for longer stays.
