About Klis Fortress
Klis Fortress stretches along a rocky ridge in the mountains above Split, guarding the pass between the coast and the interior. It held out against the Ottomans for years until 1537, and its walls and towers have sweeping views over Split and the islands. It is a short drive or bus ride inland.
