About Maksimir Park
Maksimir was opened to the public in 1794, one of the first public parks in Europe, and later laid out as a romantic English landscape park. Long avenues lead to lakes, oak woods, meadows and small pavilions, and the city zoo is inside the park. Take a tram from the centre for a long walk.
