About Lotrščak Tower & the funicular
Lotrščak Tower was built in the 13th century to guard the southern gate of Gradec, the old Upper Town. Since 1877 a cannon has been fired from it every day at noon, so do not be surprised by the bang. Climb the tower for the view, then ride the little blue funicular, one of the shortest in the world, down to Ilica.
