Arcades and domes

About Mirogoj Cemetery

Mirogoj, opened in 1876, is as much a park and an open-air gallery as a cemetery. The architect Hermann Bollé surrounded it with long arcades topped by green domes, and many tombs are works by Croatia’s finest sculptors. People of every faith are buried here, and it is a calm, moving place for a walk, especially in autumn.

Why it's on our list

  • Arcades and domes by Hermann Bollé
  • Sculpture by Croatian masters
  • A peaceful park

Opening hours, prices and seasonal openings change, so please check with Mirogoj Cemetery before you go.
