About Croatian National Theatre
The Croatian National Theatre opened in 1895, designed by the Viennese architects Fellner and Helmer, who built theatres all over Central Europe. Its bright yellow facade stands on a green square in the Lower Town, with Ivan Meštrović’s sculpture the Well of Life in front. See an opera or ballet if you can: the gilded auditorium is magnificent.
