About Pile Gate
Pile Gate is the main entrance to the old town from the west, reached over a stone bridge and a wooden drawbridge that was once raised every night. Above the arch stands St Blaise, the city’s patron saint, holding a model of Dubrovnik. Inside is the great Onofrio’s Fountain of 1438.
