The Golden Gate & Gregory of Nin
Rub the toe for luck

About The Golden Gate & Gregory of Nin
The Golden Gate was the grandest entrance to the palace, facing the road to Salona. Outside it towers Ivan Meštrović’s bronze statue of Gregory of Nin, a 10th-century bishop who championed the Croatian language in church services. Rubbing his big toe is said to bring good luck, which is why it shines.
